Puerto Portals celebrates the eleventh edition of Sankt Martin, a traditional European festival that brings together children and families to enjoy a magical evening under the stars and lantern light. We are once again celebrating Sankt Martin with a very special purpose: raising funds for Fundación Rana, a non-profit organisation in the Balearic Islands dedicated to preventing child abuse and sexual maltreatment. How does it work? Register the participating child (aged 4 and over) by purchasing one ticket per child. On the event day, collect your game card at the information booth. Complete the activity circuit: lantern-making workshop, cookie workshop, the Sankt Martin story, and the Sankt Martin walk. Hand in your game card at the information booth. Puerto Portals will donate €3 to the Rana Foundation for each mission completed. As night falls, Sankt Martin appears on horseback, and the youngest children of the harbour begin their search for him through the marina’s streets, lighting up the darkness with their lanterns. The event ends with a delicious hot chocolate and cookies.

The city’s Christmas season officially begins when the council switches on elaborate lights in squares such as Plaça de Cort, Passeig del Born, and Plaça Major. The event includes concerts and fireworks and heralds the start of the Christmas markets.

Showcases farming life with livestock shows, horse exhibitions, produce stalls, and traditional workshops for kids to learn about rural traditions.

Celebrates the arroz pobler rice variety with food tastings, cooking workshops, live music, equestrian events, and a closing concert.

Ice Park Mallorca near Parc de Ses Estacions operates a seasonal ice rink; Port Adriano and Puerto Portals also set up skating rinks and winter‑themed attractions.

Week‑long festival honouring the town’s patron saint. Activities include church services, folk dancing, live music, sports, exhibitions and children’s games. A key tradition is sharing bunyols (doughnuts) and sweet moscatel wine. The market on 7 Dec features artisan stalls, local delicacies, music, dancing and parades of giants (gegants) and bagpipers (xeremiers).

Mallorcan families gather for dinner, then attend Matines (Midnight Mass) where a child performs El Cant de la Sibil·la, a medieval chant declared UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage. The chant is performed in Palma Cathedral and parishes across the island.
