Nuria Mora - “There Was at the Bottom of the Sea”

A wreck is the vestige of a shipwreck resting on the seabed. Nuria Mora creates hers from multiple fragments, swarms of inert remains and brilliant finds, like the family history itself. Había en el fondo del mar is an intervention specially designed for Casal Solleric, which it colonizes in different locations to transform it into a stage to discover treasures that connect the building’s architecture with the urban public space and its closest surroundings: the sea.

It is a project included in “Biennal B,” a transversal, inclusive, and non-seasonal program promoted by Es Baluard Museum with the ambition to configure a creative ecosystem capable of integrating contemporary artistic practices with craftsmanship, science, and design for the sustainable transformation of the Balearic territory.
