Event Information

Co-produced with Es Baluard Contemporary Art Museum of Palma and Sa Refinadora de Marratxí // IVAM – Valencian Institute of Modern Art (February 18 - June 14, 2026) // CDAN – Centre of Art and Nature of Huesca (November 13, 2026 - May 2, 2027) // Terra de Catalunya Museum (January 2027)

The project is part of the Biennal B programming, a joint initiative between Es Baluard Museum and the Council of Mallorca, and on the island it will take place at Casal Solleric and Es Baluard Museum, with Sa Refinadora de Marratxí joining them.

Curated by Blanca de la Torre and developed across the territories of Valencia, Mallorca, Catalonia, and Aragon, “A media lumbre” brings together a set of works and practices that explore the links between contemporary art, territory, memory, and material knowledge.

The project arises from the desire to revisit vernacular crafts and techniques from a contemporary perspective to articulate a constellation of artistic practices that engage in dialogue with the materials and landscapes that originate them.

The exhibition features exceptional participation from Balearic creators or residents of the archipelago, who represent the most prominent presence among all the communities involved.
