F. Chopin & G. Sand. Art arises from everyday life
Event Information
The Palma City Council, in collaboration with the Fryderyk Chopin Institute of Warsaw, has organized the exhibition "F.Chopin & G. Sand. Art arises from everyday life," a project that has included contributions from the Museum of Mallorca, the Can Vivot Association, and the Can Marquès House Museum, to showcase the influence of their stay in Mallorca on their respective creations.
The exhibition is arranged in two rooms. The first, dedicated to the landscape and the culture of gastronomy in Mallorca, includes three landscape paintings loaned by the Museum of Mallorca. It also features two glass bell jars with flowers and a set of copper utensils and other elements of popular cuisine.
The other room incorporates all the museography from the Fryderyk Chopin Institute of Warsaw. Highlights include a large painting of the composer’s final moments at the piano, a bronze replica of his hand, 12 original preludes, and, among others, portraits of the protagonists.
