The Frédéric Chopin and George Sand Museum is housed in the Real Cartuja de Valldemossa, the former Carthusian monastery where the composer and writer spent the winter of 1838–39; visitors can explore the monk cells, cloister and period rooms that recreate their stay against the dramatic Tramuntana backdrop (note: the site has limited wheelchair accessibility).
