The Second Coming of Christ or the Yoga of Jesus is based on Yogananda's work of the same title and also on excerpts from another performance we presented on the Gospel of John. Yogananda's title does not refer to a literal, physical return of Jesus to Earth, as countless prophecies supported by various interpretations of biblical passages on this subject maintain, but rather to an inner experience of the same consciousness manifested by the historical figure of Jesus of Nazareth when he was on Earth. Yogananda maintains that through defined techniques and scientific methods of meditation, we can access this supreme level of Consciousness through the channel of our own perception and our own consciousness. Based on this idea, he has interpreted the Christian Gospels from the perspective of the spiritual wisdom of the ancient yogis of India. An original version of the genuine teachings of Jesus Christ that reveals their essential identity with Vedic tradition and the ancient knowledge of the science of Yoga. My work in this has consisted of expounding the mystical yoga teachings of Yogananda, following some of the episodes from the life and miracles of Jesus, according to the Gospels, specifically the Gospel of John.
