Concert of the XLVII Meeting of Composers, with Joan Bagés (In memory of Morton Feldman). Pianist and composer Joan Bagés dedicates a monographic recital to Morton Feldman, on the centenary of his birth. The program combines the microscopic precision music of Chiyoko Szlavnics with Palais de Mari, one of Feldman’s last works for piano, and an intimate evocation by Orlando Jacinto García, his disciple. At the center is the world premiere of Intermission 6, a contemporary reinterpretation by Joan Bagés of an early piece by Feldman: electronics act as an extension of the acoustic sound, revealing resonances, shadows, and hidden details of the original, and the performance of this work is a tribute to Feldman on the commemoration of the hundredth anniversary of his birth.
