Kintsugi is music made from shrapnel.

Its goal is to create a sound result that has more meaning than the fragments that compose it.

Kintsugi is an improvised music project created by saxophonist João Mortágua and pianist Luís Figueiredo. It is based on the Japanese concept of kintsugi, which refers both to a technique of repairing ceramics with gold and to a philosophical stance: an attitude of acceptance and embracing error and the unpredictability of life. The group released their debut album in 2021 with the Roda Music label and is currently working on their second record, now as a trio with the addition of guitarist Pedro Branco.

Alex Abril is a duo formed by Abril Saurí (drums) and Alex Duato (piano). Their proposal fuses modernity and tradition within jazz fusion, with great rhythmic complexity and melodic sensitivity. In just one year, they have established themselves as one of the most promising acts in contemporary jazz, building a solid community on social media that has connected them with audiences from different parts of the world. With the release of
