"THE SYMPOSIUM," a comedy in the style of the classics inspired by the Greek shipwreck of Cala Sant VicençSynopsis: This is the possible story of the farewell dinner of a Phocaean merchant, Émporos, who, for reasons beyond his control and by the will of gods and men, is settled with his family at the port of Elea, in Magna Graecia. Émporos, with a select crew, must set sail tomorrow on his ship towards the west of the Mediterranean, from a place far back in time, the 6th century BC, passing through the Gymnesian Islands. Émporos is about to begin his commercial journey to an uncertain, unpredictable, unexpected destination… Ahem, but we won’t spoil it… We will see what’s cooking inside his household kitchen. A comedy that aims to emulate ancient comedies, funny, instructive, and beautiful at the same time.Author and director: Francesca Palou.Performers: Jaume Grimalt, Marilén Capllonch, Adela Mira, Antònia Comas, Xesca Coll, Jaume Ferrà, Biel Cerdà, Vincent Fouillat, Caterina Tugores.
